The cross country team finished their busiest stretch in team history with historic victories in early September, racing four times in nine days. Along the way, the boys and girls  varsity swept rival RZJHS for the first time in school history. It was a dominant perfromance led at the top by Ezra Perlow (1st), Michah Cohen (2nd), Tzippy David (1st), Adina Trubnick (3rd) , Tova Oliff (4th) and Nechama Braun (5th).  Helping the boys to victory was also the “WolfPack” comprised of Gabey Cohen, Josh Goltz, Ephraim Wiesenberg, Ronen Lavi and Benny Albom who dominated the middle of the RZ line up. The girls were aided by strong performances from freshman Meira Linzer, Rachel Schwartz and Shira David. ICJA also won gold in both of the Open races with a chest thumping performance from Yonah Sternberg and Anna Jacoby. Out of 48 runners, we also had a whopping 33 personal records.

On Wednesday, the Running Aces participated in a 10 school meet hosted by Lane Tech. Thirty seven runners ran on a grassy course with an up hill finish. ICJA still managed to eek out two PRs by Jacob Miller and Chana Friedman and the Girls Open team took 2nd place with medals by Tzippy David (3rd), Tova Oliff (8th) and a shared medal tie for 20th between Rachel Schwartz and Meira Linzer.

The ICJA team has over 60 runners, about the size of all five ICJA basketball teams combined and about 20 percent of the school!
