The summer school courses include the same material and have the same academic expectations as the course taught during the regular school year. The equivalent of one week’s worth of material is taught in school every day and the equivalent of one week’s worth of homework must be completed each night. Therefore, in addition to the 4.5 hours spent in class each day (including breaks), there is a significant time commitment required after school as well. It is not uncommon to spend up to four hours on a night’s homework assignment.
The only type of academic support available during summer school is extended-time testing.
All students may apply at the bottom of this page for summer school. Complete the registration form below and submit the $100 deposit fee in the form of a check to the office or pay below online. Transfer students may register for summer school classes. Contact Mrs. Burson, ICJA registrar with any questions.
Students will be enrolled in the class in the order in which their registrations are approved. The Administration may deny enrollment in the class to any registrant whom we feel will complete the course more successfully during the regular school year.
Sections may be canceled in case of insufficient enrollment. Sections will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no guarantee of multiple sections. Courses will close out after the first 20 students have registered. Additional registrants will be wait listed.
The fee is $250 for MJH with three payment options available. Since summer school is not part of the regular school budget and is not required of students, financial assistance cannot be provided. In addition, enrollment is limited to those families whose financial obligations with the Academy are in good standing. Pay online below.
If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Burson, ICJA registrar.
