Dear Prospective Student,

    The Academy is a school based on balance, striving to create a balance socially, educationally, extracurricularly and religiously.
    Socially, there are many social events each year such as Purim Revue and color wars on Lag Ba'omer. Furthermore, in the Academy students meet new people that they often spend time with out of school. Despite the vibrant social life at the Academy, the school does place limits on what is deemed to be inappropriate social activity.
    One of the major reasons that students choose the Academy as their school is the educational balance. A school day at the Academy is split equally between Judaic studies and secular studies. The first half of the day is for Judaic studies. Students take classes in Bible, Talmud, Prophets and Hebrew. The second half of the day is devoted to general studies, such as English, social studies, science and mathematics. Despite only half of the day being devoted to general studies, the Academy boasts one of the best secular studies programs of private schools in the state.
    The Academy has a number of extracurricular activities, including: athletics, matheletes and student council. Students learn to balance between their extracurricular activities and their studies. Too many extracurricular activities will take time away from their studies and affect their grades, so they learn to manage their time wisely to get everything done.
    The toughest balance to achieve is in religion. The Academy prides itself on being a Modern Orthodox institution. An example of this is the Academy's position on co-ed education. In the morning, while students attend their Judaic studies classes, the boys and girls are separate. In the afternoon, the classes are mixed.
    The Academy is a great school. It is a place of learning and fun. The Academy is the perfect high school for a Modern Orthodox student who wants to receive an education the will benefit him/her the rest of their life.
