Joseph Quintas, Grade 12What ICJA Means to MeWhat ICJA Means to MeICJA is whatever a student wants it to be. Many who attend look for a strong Jewish education and an enforcement of their Jewish ideals. They can find it here. The morning classes entail Shiurim of Gemara, Tanach, and other aspects of Jewish learning and Hashkafah. Special programs are promoted to enforce Torah study, and the teachers instill within their students a love of Hashem and Torah. The YU Kollel Torah Mitzion resides within our walls, and its members bond with students. The Zionist atmosphere is instilled within students by stressing such days as Yom Ha’Atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim. Israeli teachers teach Ivrit to us and teach us about our Homeland, Israel, and its culture. The dual curriculum provides a variety of general studies from which to learn and enjoy. Different levels of different fields are available to all students so that everyone may choose the classes that appeal to them and truly enjoy the material. The classes are able to fit the needs of every single individual who walks within its halls. If students want to be challenged, A.P. courses are available; if students need extra help, teachers will talk to students and try to help them personally understand the material. Teachers teach to every student, and no one leaves school unsatisfied. Most importantly, Ida Crown is one, big family. The school is so small that everyone knows each other. Personally, I am friendly with everyone in the school and friends with members of every grade. I give warm regards to teachers and administrators. The administration is always willing to listen to students and accommodate them according to their individual needs. From studying with students and hanging out in the halls, the Academy’s warm environment provides students with a loving place in which to learn and make life-long friends. |
