How to Apply to the Academy
Application
- Fill out the application online or download the application and bring it to the office.
- Complete and sign the Release of Information form. Please fax or mail the form to the office. The signed Release of Information allows our office to obtain academic and psycho educational records from the applicant’s current school and any service providers. All forms are also available by calling the school office at (773) 973-1450.
- If you are submitting your application online, please mail a current photo of the applicant to the school office, or email one to Mrs. Rivkah Rabin.
Application Fee
Application fee must be included with your Application. Mail your application fee to the Academy at 2828 W. Pratt Blvd., Chicago, IL 60645. Prior to January 31st, the application fee is $75; after that date, the fee is $125.

The Recommendation Form should be completed by a Judaic Studies teacher or Rabbi and returned to the Admissions Office under separate cover.

Placement tests in mathematics, language arts and Hebrew language are required. Testing will be Sunday, January 18, 2009 or Sunday February 1, 2009. Make-up tests may be arranged by calling (773) 973-1450.
Academic Services Department
The Academic Services Department provides services for students including--but not be limited to--course changes, level changes, use of lap tops, note takers, readers, materials with enlarged print, books on tape, special classroom seating, extended time on assignments, extended time on tests, assignment to support teachers, social work services, assignment to the writing lab, and scheduled case management.
Before any student with special learning needs can be accepted to ICJA, the school must receive the necessary documentation to guarantee that ICJA can provide the needed service and accommodations to support successful learning. Documentation must be written by the diagnosing professional(s) and meet several guidelines. For more information here:
Academic Services DepartmentInterview
After the completed Application, Recommendation, school records, and any psycho educational testing results have been received, and after placement tests have been taken, the Academy will call families to schedule an interview for the applicant and one or both parents.
Acceptance
A letter of acceptance is generally sent within two weeks of the interview. A registration deposit is requested at that time.
