Dear Prospective Student,

    Ida Crown Jewish Academy is a second home. Some students even spend more time at the Academy than at home. The Academy is filled to the brim with smiling faculty, understanding students, knowledgeable educators, and extracurricular activities for every interest, whether it is journalism with the Crown Prints, or organizing events with different committees designated for school programs. The smaller class sizes also help to weave a close-knit student body, allowing students from different grades and classes to befriend one another, even by just passing each other in the hallway.
     Some students are also not the first of their family to attend the Ida Crown Jewish Academy. Many siblings will attend the Academy at the same time, which leads to a whole section of the yearbook being dedicated to the familial connections at the Academy. Many students are also second or third generation Academy students. The Academy’s foundation is held up by the many alumni that send their children to high school in the familiar familial atmosphere that they themselves experienced during high school.
     There are many levels for each class, accommodating every person’s needs and learning levels. The teachers are also readily available to help with confusing lessons during lunch periods, or through scheduled meetings either during their free period or after school. Other teachers are also more than willing to help a student when his or her teacher is not available. One common place that students study in is the library, located on the second floor. The library provides a secluded area for students to finish work during their free periods, or to work on group projects. Students congregate in the library to study for tests, type different assignments, check emails or add the finishing touches to a peer-edited report due in the next couple of periods. True, the length of a normal day’s attendance at the Academy is daunting, but the quality of the education, as well as time that students have to spend with friends, helps the day pass more quickly.
