Year in Israel

Ask almost any Academy grad, and they’ll tell you that their year in Israel was the most formative year of their lives.

That’s why we consider the year in Israel as the “fifth year” of an Academy education. Annually, nearly all of our senior class heads to Israel following graduating. Rabbi Matanky meets with all juniors at the end of the academic year to review the process of program selection, application and acceptance.

For many students, a year in Israel will be the next step after graduation. We believe this intensive Jewish experience offers an important opportunity to connect with our traditions and homeland. The year before beginning college offers our students an opportunity for further personal growth and a chance to clarify their future academic and career goals.

Israel Scholarships:

Following are two scholarship applications for Israel programs. Students may apply through the submission of duplicate copies of information (i.e. letters of reference, etc.) to both scholarship application packages. They must make sure that each application package contains all the necessary components. Each submission must be completed and submitted in separate envelopes – one marked for the Fiedler Scholarship and one marked for the Lavin etc. Scholarship. If they wish, they may also apply for only one particular scholarship by filling out, exclusively, the scholarship form which goes with that scholarship.

Single copies submitted for both scholarships will not be accepted and the applications will be discarded.
