Luncheon to Honor Educator, Students
2010 Women's Luncheon
Over 150 women gathered for the 3rd Annual ICJA
Women's
 Luncheon on
April 28 at the Bryn Mawr Country Club, honoring Mrs. Shelley Stopek,
ICJA Judaics teacher for nearly 20 years,
and presenting Senior Leadership Awards to Efrat Chez, Aliza Katzin,
Shira
Redlich and Chaia Wiznitzer. Students were selected by their teachers
for
overall excellence. "It was difficult to select four young women among a
class
of extraordinary young women," says Rabbi Dr. Leonard A. Matanky, dean
of ICJA.  In presenting the
Educational Excellence Award to Mrs. Stopek,
Rabbi Matanky said that Mrs. Stopek knows that the "secret of great
teaching is
to see the whole child, while still recognizing the needs of all our
students
as whole."
In her acceptance speech, Stopek said, "The names of those
who have practiced my profession, ring like a hall of fame for
humanity." She
concluded by saying, "I am a teacher, and I thank HaShem for this each
and
every day." The guest speaker was Slovie Jungreis-Wolff, daughter of
well-known teacher and inspirational speaker, Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis.
Slovie
is a noted lecturer, teacher and author of Raising a Child with Soul by
St.
Martin's Press. She bases her universal lessons on the wisdom of the
Torah.
