Staff and students heard from Ms. Mazi Melesa in honor of the 25th anniversary this year of Operation Moses. Ms. Melesa came to Israel in 1991 on Operation Solomon and will share her story with ICJA students and staff. As part of the program, the students reenacted in the gym the airlift to Israel.
In 2006 Mazi served as a Chief of staff for the 2006 elections campaign to the Knesset of ATID ECHAD party, the political party representing the socially and economically disadvantaged communities. Recently Mazi finished her Executive Master's Program in Diplomacy and Security at Tel Aviv University. Currently, she is representing the Ethiopian community through the office of NACOEJ and UJC.
Juniors and seniors also heard Sgt. Benjamin Anthony, founder of Our Soldiers Speak, speak in the afternoon.
