Alumni Aces, Shlomit Braun (’11) and Rita Gordon (’11), were named to the women’s soccer All Conference team for their efforts on the Yeshiva University Maccabees. Braun was also just named Stern athlete of the month!

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) has announced that amongst its women’s soccer All Conference team are Yeshiva players Shlomit Braun and Rita Gordon for the 2014 women’s soccer season.

Braun, a senior, had a solid season for the Maccabees. She netted four goals and added an assist for nine points, helping the Maccabees to earn a berth into the 2014 HVIAC women’s soccer playoffs. She netted one goal each in games against John Jay College (9/10), Maritime College (9/17), York College (10/24) and Medgar Evers College (10/30). She also contributed an assist in the game against Medgar Evers College.

Gordon, a first year member of the team, played tenacious defense all season for the Maccabees who came together with a late season surge, winning three of their last four contests of the season. Her hard work on defense led to a goal this season, when she netted the team’s final goal of the year in the season finale win over Medgar Evers. In addition, Yeshiva’s final two wins of the season ended in shutout victories.

Congrats, ladies!
