Dear ICJA Family:
Today was a typical, normal day at ICJA. With over 120 classes meeting via zoom, 2 AP tests, study sessions for two more APs scheduled for tomorrow, student meetings about next year’s schedule, a few calls to Israel programs about next year, AND a lot of learning, it is truly amazing what our school continues to accomplish.
Earlier today, I received a beautiful letter from one of our parents. Among the things she wrote was the following:
Once again, ICJA has outdone itself. With the Grandparents program, paint night and Lag B’Omer sweets. Ida Crown is once again proving what a special place it is. I am so impressed with the classes and communication during this time, but it’s really the extra programming that has been wonderful to be a part of. That’s the extra something that shows that the school goes beyond being just an educational institution, but also is a family…
We ARE a family. And as a family, we have faced this latest challenge not only with courage but with creativity and mutual support. As I responded to her:
Thank you for the very kind note. I’m sure you know that this is a team effort, and it’s only because of the talented faculty and the great families that we can make all of this possible! (And the kids are pretty awesome as well).
Which reminds me that this coming Monday, I urge you to tune in to Josh Pogonitz’s Mental Health Workshop (see below for more information). He’s put a lot of effort into this and was recognized for his efforts by JUF as one of their 18 under 18. And let’s not forget Student Council’s mask sale, the Keter Yearbook, and all of the other wonderful things our students continue to do and inspire.
Thursday’s schedule is as follows:
Period 1: 9:30 – 10:10 a.m.
Period 5: 10:15 – 10:55 a.m.
Period 6: 11:00 – 11:40 a.m.
