Congratulations to student editors: Haia B’chiri, Machol Benmelech, Sarah Otis, Sophie Gordon and Frannie Miller. Congrats to faculty advisor, Marsha Arons.

NCTE’s Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines (PRESLM) recognizes students, teachers, and schools for producing excellent literary magazines. The program’s mission is to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines and seek excellence in writing and school-wide participation in production.

What’s perhaps most astounding about the high rank of our literary magazine is that the contest is not divided by school size, so that ICJA’s small student body of 300 competes with some of the largest schools in the nation. Students submit work to the magazine’s editors throughout the school year, and the book is completed each spring to showcase ICJA’s writers, poets, artists, photographers and graphic designers.
