Dear ICJA Family

Today is the first day of the shloshet yimei hagbala, the three days leading up to Shavuot, and we are getting ready for that event in an exciting fashion! All ICJA girls are invited to participate in a NILI sponsored Shavuot program, featuring great speakers, including our own Mrs. Katz and Mrs. Friedman and ICJA alumnae Roni Kahan and Tamar Shames. It begins at 8 pm and here is the link. And Rabbis Yoni Fox and Meyer Simcha Stromer are hosting a learning program for 11th and 12th-grade boys starting at 8:30 pm and featuring divrei Torah from ICJA alumni Justin Carl and Jordan Benditzonhere is the link for that program.

In school, amazing things continue to happen. The AP’s are finished, but Mr. Sears’ AP Physics class is beginning to create 3-D computer models of many of the concepts they’ve learned. Ms. Gleicher’s 9th-grade Biology is completing their final unit on cells, mutations, and cancer and will be hearing from a two-time cancer survivor. Mrs. Kraft’s 11th grade Tanach class is creating online research projects, and Rabbi Kurtz’s Hebrew class will be taking the Jerusalem exam in a special socially distant setting!

By the way, our clubs continue to meet, and tomorrow is a meeting incoming Board of the Israel Advocacy Club at 3:15 pm in Ms. Sennett’s room.

In the coming days, and thanks to the continued support of Susan and Joseph Ament, our literary journal Charlotte’s Web, will be released in its special online edition. And let’s not forget Mrs. Goldstein’s senior public speaking class who will be presenting an online version of their Oratory Fair.

The following is the schedule for tomorrow:

Period 2: 9:30 – 10:10 a.m.

Period 3: 10:15 – 10:55 a.m.

Period 4: 11:00 – 11:40 a.m.

Period 10: 1:00 -1:40 p.m.

Period 11: 1:45 – 2:25 p.m.

Period 12: 2:30 – 3:10 p.m.

Don’t forget that we have school tomorrow and Thursday (Erev Shavuot).

Finally, I’m attaching the schedule once again for finals (they begin June 8). Students, please make sure to be in touch with your teachers to confirm the exact time of your final assessment.

Stay safe, stay inspired, and stay in touch!

B’virkat HaTorah,

Rabbi Leonard A. Matanky, Ph.D.
