Dear ICJA Family:

School is slowly winding down, with next week being the last week of classes, and the week after that is “finals.” Of course, finals this year will be very different than before, as most teachers are using alternative assessments instead of the traditional tests. Even in AP courses, new opportunities for end of the year assessments have emerged. Because this year, the College Board has sent all AP teachers the tests their students took (ungraded and without an answer key – of course!), but available to teachers to use instead of a final.

By the way, congratulations to both Rabbi Broner’s senior honors boys’ Gemara class and to my senior honors girls’ Gemara class for completing Mesechet Makkot. While the siyum for my students is yet to occur, on Sunday, Rabbi Broner hosted a zoom siyum with food delivered to each student’s home. Not only did they complete the mesechet, but they also heard words of inspiration from special guest speaker and former ICJA parent and current grandparent, Mr. Israel Starck.

Next week, on June 3, is the deadline for our students to submit their “Service Point Forms.” Click here for the online form – and students, please don’t miss this opportunity to be recognized for your efforts on behalf of the school. On a similar note, next week, we are also sending out certificates of recognition for students who have excelled in Torah Studies, in Chesed work and spent additional hours of Torah learning. In most years, these certificates were distributed during our Torah Awards event. Please G-d next year the event will be back on!

Also, on June 3 at 8 pm, a Parent Town Hall meeting will be held to share thoughts about this year, and ideas about the coming ICJA school year. Please join us for this online event. Click here for the link.

Tomorrow, Erev Shavuot, the schedule will be as follows:

Period 1: 9:30 – 10:10 a.m.

Period 5: 10:15 – 10:55 a.m.

Period 6: 11:00 – 11:40 a.m.
