21st Century Learning Opportunities in Every Classroom

We recognize that you’ll need to be prepared for a career in a rapidly changing 21st century.  We also know that you likely knew how to “finger swipe” long before you ever held a pencil.

That’s why we incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) into our curricula across subjects and senior level courses to STEM. One administrator devotes her time entirely to STEM, and our new building supports the learning environment necessary for 21st century learning. We also emphasize collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills across subjects.

Here’s how you’ll use technology at ICJA:

We’re a 1:1 School: Receive a personal iPad on your first day of class, loaded with apps to help you research, learn and collaborate. You’ll of course have the Google Apps for Education.

STEM Courses: Be ready for college and the future with three STEM courses (and more to come!)

Problem-Based Learning: Work on projects collaboratively and across subjects, giving you real-life learning opportunities and tools.

Collaborative partnership with Northwestern University: One of the primary ways we are incorporating STEM education into the classroom is by empowering teachers with training, support and teaching materials that are easily implemented in various topics of their current curricula. We are one of only approximately 100 schools in the Chicagoland area to work closely with Northwestern’s Office of STEM Education Partnerships, providing us with access to their breadth of knowledge and online tools.
