Cross Country
On Sunday, August 24, ICJA’s Cross Country team travelled to Rockford IL for the 10th annual Tough Mudder Chicago.
Runners could choose between three different challenges: the 5K, 15K or Infinity race. The 5K has 13 obstacles while the 15K features more than 30 obstacles like ice water plunges. If people chose the Infinity challenge, competitors looped the 15K as many times as possible in eight hours. ICJA runners competed in the 10 mile, 20 obstacle option.
“The team stayed together and encouraged everyone,” Coach Dana Hunter noted. “Teamwork was on full display.” Coach David Shyovitz said: “Can’t overstate how impressive it was to see kids, of different ages and fitness backgrounds, work together and cheer each other on – and to help and encourage other participants at the race. A real Kiddush hashem, and serious nachas for the coaches.
