Rabbi Meir Sears’ 10th Grade Talmud Class
When is an object considered hefker – abandoned and ownerless? Sophomores in Rabbi Meir Sears’s Talmud class are learning Masechet Baba Metzia and are finding out.
Students learned Mishna and Gemara as well as Rashi, Rashbam, Tosefot, and others to understand the different categories of lost objects and how they are treated. Among the topics students are learning include scattered fruit, bundled objects, and objects found in the rishus harabim, or public domain.
