Mrs. Shelley Stopek
Mrs. Shelley Stopek has a B.A. from the University of Illinois, B.J.S. from the Spertus College, and a certificate of teaching Hebrew as a second language from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She has earned an Advanced Teacher’s Certificate from the Associated Talmud Torahs (ATT) of Chicago, and is the Director of the Nathan and Shirley Rothner ATT Summer Camp program. She is an ICJA alumna and has been working at Ida Crown since 1991 teaching Navi, Chumash, and Academic Support in the past, and Ivrit this year. Mrs. Stopek is the recipient of Educational Excellence Award from Ida Crown in 2010, the Educator of the Year award in 2020, and was recognized as an outstanding teacher from the Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago. She has also been recognized for her work by receiving Associated Talmud Torahs awards Teacher Achievement – 1991 and the Teacher Appreciation for work with the Russian Transitional School – 1995.
