Mrs. Tirza Kahan
Mrs. Tirza Kahan has a B.A. and M.A. in English from the City College of New York. Her goal is to help students effectively communicate by improving their oral communication skills as well as their writing skills. She previously taught high school in the New York City public schools as well as Bronx Community College. She is currently the faculty advisor for the Interact Club, a division of Rotary International and was formerly the faculty advisor for ICJA Keter yearbook for 17 years. Her students have won numerous awards for their writing in the State Letters for Literature Contests. Together with Ms. Sheri Goldstein, Mrs. Kahan offers daily writing help to all students in Writers Lab. She has taught AP Language and Composition for the past 15 years. She has been working at ICJA since 1992 and is the proud parent of an ICJA graduate.
