Perhaps more than anything else, the way we conduct ourselves during tefillah is an indication of our religious persona. As such, tefillah is an important part of our school day, a requirement for all students and an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with G-d.

Please follow the guidelines listed below to help make tefillah meaningful:

  • Tefillah begins at 8:05 AM.
  • You are expected to be at tefillah on time, ready to participate. All students who travel in car pools must ensure that they leave their communities on time so they can arrive at school on time for services.
  • During tefillah, cell phones must be put away, and no food or drink is allowed.

Tardies/Absences

A student who arrives to tefillah after 8:05 AM is considered tardy. A student who arrives to tefillah after 8:25 AM is considered absent.

  1. After 5 unexcused tardies/absences in a quarter, the school will communicate with parents regarding the pattern of lateness.
  2. After 10 unexcused tardies/absences in a quarter, a student will receive a 6:30 PM Zoom detention.
  3. After anything over 10 unexcused tardies/absences in a quarter, the student will receive an in-school suspension and a required parent meeting.

Additional Expectations:

Students who are chronically late or absent may become ineligible for participation in school programs such as team sports, Senior Leaders, and the Torah Chapter of the National Honor Society, and may face further disciplinary action, including suspension.

More than two tardies or two absences from the 7:15 AM Friday minyan may result in dismissal from the seminar class.

Parents or students are responsible for informing the school office of absences or tardies due to family occasions or medical reasons. Special circumstances may be considered by the administration.
