March 16, 2020

Dear ICJA Friends and Family,

In these unprecedented times, regrettably, the Edward A. Crown Scholarship Dinner will not take place in person at ICJA on March 30th. We do not want to lose the opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to our most deserving honorees, Debbie and Dr. David Dobkin (Crown Leadership Awardees), Mrs. Shelley Stopek (Educator of the Year), and the memory of the late Sammy Bernstein, z”l (establishing the Sam Bernstein, z”l music program). Therefore, we will be celebrating their achievements in a most unprecedented way.

On March 30th, we invite you to tune in from the comfort of your homes to an exceptional video tribute that will be broadcast, celebrating the many contributions our honorees have made and continue to make to the ICJA family. Additionally, our annual dinner ad book will be a “virtual ad book.” This ad book will be the forum where you will be able to share meaningful words and sentiments with our honorees and show your continued support for the entire Ida Crown Jewish Academy community. We are still accepting ads for this tribute.

If you have not placed an ad, you can still do so through our website or by emailing Carolyn Soffer at csoffer@icja.org. The new ad deadline is Monday, March 23rd.

If you purchased dinner tickets only, you may contact us for a full refund, apply the credit for next year’s dinner, or have your tickets converted to a donation toward our scholarship fund. Please email Dzwelling@icja.org with your decision.

Just as we have taken our Edward A. Crown Scholarship Dinner online, we are very proud that classes and learning are continuing via video-conference and asynchronous learning. Our teachers and students continue to amaze us with their resilience and adaptation to the new reality of learning and school. Your support of ICJA is a tribute to them and the continued Judaic and General learning that is continuing uninterrupted throughout these unique times.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support at this unusual moment.

May Hashem bless us all with good health and grant a speedy recovery to all those in need. We pray for a quick end to this terrible pandemic and look forward to celebrating together in person, in future years.

Sincerely,
