Congrats to the Aces varsity basketball team on the back-to-back Tier II win at the YU Sarachek Tournament!

To play in the championship game, the Aces first had to defeat Fuchs Mizrachi of Cleveland in semi final overtime. Watch the exciting end, with senior Kevin Bokor DUNKING for first time in his career.

The 11th seeded Aces beat the 9th seeded Hillel-NJ Heat by a final score of 49-39 in Monday’s Tier II Championship game.

Kevin Bokor  hit a close basket with 35 seconds left in the third quarter to earn his 1000th career point. That bucket also gave the Aces a 20-point lead going into the final frame.

Bokor led the Aces with a near triple-double in this contest, finishing with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Gidon Neuman also had a fantastic game, scoring 15 points on 6-8 shooting.

As a team the Aces shot 50% from the field compared to only 30% for the Heat.

Ida Crown was able to maintain a lead for most of the game, but Hillel kept it within reach during the first half.

In the first quarter both teams came out looking for a strong start by trying to get their stars hot early. However, Ida Crown controlled the tempo due to their tenacious defense.

The Aces outscored Hillel 15-4 in the third quarter to put them ahead for good.

The Heat pulled the game to within 5 points late in the fourth quarter, but the Aces were able to gut it out at the end.

Ida Crown finishes this tournament with a 3-1 record, earning an impressive second-straight Tier II championship trophy.
