Chesed Day
Today’s Chesed Day was filled with inspiration and ruach!
Students began the morning, after davening and first period classes, by participating in the Rabbi Sacks Global Day of Learning, commemorating the fourth Yahrzheit of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, z”l, on the 20th of Cheshvan. Students watched two inspirational videos and spent time learning b’chavruta or in small groups about the theme “The People of the Book,” reflecting a concept that Rabbi Sacks cherished: a commitment to learning, dialogue, and the power of ideas. (The program’s opening video can be seen here and the closing video can be viewed here.)
Afterwards, students learned about and volunteered for different local chesed organizations, including Sharsheret, Yachad, Gratitude Generation, Cradles to Crayons, and The Chicago Center. Thank you Mrs. Alissa Zeffren for organizing this incredible day.
