This year started off incredibly with nearly 60 freshmen joining the Ida Crown family. When a student joins Ida Crown, they receive an individualized schedule to fit his or her needs and interests. This group of freshmen came from many different elementary schools including Arie Crown, Hillel Torah, and Akiba Schechter. A small group of freshmen also came from a couple other schools and even from other cities. Despite the fact that these students came from an assortment of different schools and backgrounds, they have come together as the promising class of 2020. Here is what a few of them had to say:

Dina Obodyanik:

What middle school did you attend prior to ICJA?
“Bais Yaakov”

What is you favorite part of ICJA?
“My math class. I love how my teacher, Mr. Keller, maintains the students attention by keeping the class interesting.”

What is the hardest to adjust to at ICJA?
“The amount of homework!”

What is your goal for the next few years?
“Become involved with the community and build lifelong bonds with my friends”.

Jake Gordon:
What middle school did you attend prior to ICJA?
“Akiba Shechter”

What is the hardest aspect of high school to adjust to?
“Staying on top of all my work.”

What is you favorite part of ICJA?
“The free periods are amazing! I appreciate having the opportunity to take a break from the long school day.”

What is your goal for this year?
“I do not want to fall behind in my homework.”

Mia Perlman:
What middle school did you attend prior to ICJA?
“Hillel Torah”

What is the hardest aspect of high school to adjust to?
“The amount of homework my teachers assign.”

What is you favorite part of ICJA?
“All the welcoming new people I have had the opportunity to meet.”

What is your goal for this year/ high school?
“Lady Aces all the way!”

Gadi Kalman:

What middle school did you attend prior to ICJA?
“Arie Crown”

What is the hardest part of high school for you?
“For sure the work. I’ve never been so overwhelmed from school work in my life! But as long as I stay on top of things and use my time wisely during free periods, everything will be okay.”

What is your favorite part of ICJA?
“The kindness that spreads throughout the building. I walk on every morning and I see Rabbi Matanky and staff saying good morning, and it starts every morning off in the best way possible.”

What is your goal for the upcoming years?
“To become the best person I can be. I want to leave this school knowing that I accomplished something. I believe the situation I am in will benefit me tremendously.”
