Congratulations to junior Jacob Miller on being selected as a recipient of the prestigious Bronfman Fellowship.

Jacob was chosen as one of 26 Fellows from a pool of 236 applicants.  The highly selective Fellowship educates and inspires exceptional young Jews from diverse backgrounds to become active participants in Jewish culture throughout their lives, and to contribute their talents and vision to the Jewish community and to the world at large.

Physics Research

In addition to his outstanding effort in the classroom, character and leadership in sports and clubs–Jacob was selected in part for participating in ICJA’s student physics research on muons. In a press release from Bronfman, the foundation referred to Jacob, saying, “The Bronfman Fellowship has selected its 33rd cohort of intellectually curious 11th-graders from across North America, among them the president of a club that helps support youth development in the African country of Eswatini, a young physicist whose studies on cosmic ray muons have been used by high schools throughout the country, a professional jeweler who works with ancient gemstones, and an activist who spoke to a crowd of thousands about the violence spawned by white nationalism in the wake of the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue.”

The Bronfman Fellowship taps 26 North American teenagers at a formative point in their lives, the year before college, when an intense, immersive experience beginning during the summer in Israel and continuing throughout senior year.

Congratulations, Jacob!
