The JV Girls’ Basketball team defeated Cristo Rey 25-17 Thursday night, defending their Chicago Prep Conference Championship Title, to take the win again. This is the third time in five years that the Aces won the Conference tournament.

Although the season started off slow, with a record of 1-2 in the first three games, the Aces came together to win the next six games. Last Sunday night, the girls played a great game against Cristo Rey that was a back and forth contest, but in the end the Lady Aces pulled out a 3 point victory to advance to the conference championship.

The conference championship game was held at Cristo Rey, where it was a rematch of the two teams. The game started off slow and was tied at 4 at the end of the first quarter. Then the Lady Aces found their shots and took a 15-6 lead at half time. From that point on, there was no looking back for the Aces. They continued to play well throughout the second half and took a 21-10 lead headed into the fourth quarter.

With one more game left this week, the JV Lady Aces are 9-4. The girls will end there season against the Whitney Young Dolphins this Wednesday night. Congrats to Coach Zach Appel (’03) and ladies on a great season.
