Dear Academy Family:
What can I say, except “thank you” for all of the support and encouragement that everyone has offered this past week. While we do not know how much longer we will remain a “virtual” school, the truth is that we are a REAL community, and everyone has done their best to make a difficult situation so meaningful and impactful.
Today there was a simcha in our community as two alumni class of 2015, Eliana Amrami and Cheely Birn, were married. Their simcha, while very small in attendance, was great in much-needed joy! Mazal tov to them and their parents, Jennifer & Ben Amrami and Phil & Renee Birn.
Today was also the first faculty town-hall meeting, an opportunity that we have created so that our amazing faculty can share ideas and interact with one another. As I have said before, it is only because of them and our dedicated students that this past week was a success.
Tomorrow, during our lunch break (11:45-12:30), will be the comedy event – “Sit Down for Some Stand-Up Comedy with ICJA alum Eli Lebowicz.” Everyone, students, parents, families, and friends are invited to tune in and laugh a little – we all need it!!

Wednesdays
Period 1: 9:30 – 10:10a.
Period 2: 10:15 – 10:55a.
Period 3: 11:00 – 11:40a.
Break and Comedy Show
Period 10: 1:00 -1:40p.
Period 11: 1:45 – 2:25p.
Period 12: 2:30 – 3:10p.
As I mentioned yesterday, Monday night is a big night for ICJA – as we will have our first (and hopefully last) VIRTUAL Dinner at 8:00 pm. Join us as we pay tribute to three extraordinary honorees, Debbie and David Dobkin, Shelley Stopek, and the memory of ICJA alum Sammy Bernstein, z “l. Next Tuesday will be a meeting of our Israel Advocacy Club – students, please go to Ms. Sennett’s room at 3:15 for the meeting!
And Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm, we are scheduling a town hall meeting for all of our parents. During the meeting, I will share what is happening and what are our plans for the coming weeks. The meeting will be broadcast on zoom, and access information will be shared soon.
Finally, we have one small request for our students (and parents you can help). When coming to class, please come on time, keep your cameras on, be dressed appropriately, and be ready to learn. Sometimes it’s tough – but we want you engaged.
